Dr. Mark Knoefel

Orthodontist

Dr. Mark Knoefel was born in St. Bruno, Quebec, a suburb of Montreal. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from McGill University in 1995. In 1996 he moved to Edmonton to obtain his specialty degree (Master of Science in Orthodontics) at the University of Alberta, which he completed in the spring of 1999. In his spare time, Dr. Knoefel enjoys music, fitness and reading. He also has a strong passion for studying languages, as he can speak, read and write English, French and German fluently, and has taken courses in Spanish, Japanese and Swedish. Dr. Knoefel loves interacting and laughing with little ones and is himself the proud father of four athletic and musical children.

Irene

Office Manager

Irene has been with our office since August 2010. After graduating high school, she took her Dental Assisting course at University College of the Fraser Valley in BC and completed her orthodontic module at the University of British Columbia. She has also taken many accounting courses through NAIT and online through the CGA programs. Irene enjoys scrapbooking, doing endless home renovations, spending time with her family and as of recent crafting homemade rustic wooden signs/clocks.

Jen

Clinic Operations Manager

Jennifer moved to Alberta from Montreal in 1972. She attended Jasper Place Composite High School followed by the NAIT Dental Assisting Program in 1985. She has an interest in travel ad completed a Certified Travel Agent course in 1988. Jennifer started her career with Empire Orthodontics, and has been working with Dr. Knoefel ever since he started practicing in 1999. She has over 30 years of experience involving clinical assisting, treatment coordinating and implementation of digital orthodontics. She is married with two very active boys who both play hockey and keep mom and dad very busy. Her other hobbies include walking, cycling and travelling.

Dani

New Patient Care Coordinator

Dani started with Oasis Orthodontics in February 2017 as the New Patient Coordinator. Dani was born in Edmonton but lived throughout Alberta before her family settled in St. Albert when she was 13. She graduated from Bellerose Composite High School. Dani has 2 children. Her daughter Mya is completing her Education degree at Concordia University College. Her son Marcus is in Junior High School. Dani loves spending time with her family, and she keeps busy attending many sporting events with her children. You can catch her either watching her daughter play soccer or cheering on her son at the endless hockey events and school sports he participates in. She enjoys keeping busy! On her down time you can find her in her PJ’s with a Chai Tea Latte either watching reruns of Friends or a new movie! She loves travelling, taking walks, crafting and baking. Watch out for her as she has been known to be a bit of a prankster!!

Cathlene

Financial Coordinator

Cathlene was born and raised in Edmonton, AB and is a mom to two hyper boys. She is also a mom to three furry babies; two dogs and a cat. In her spare time she enjoys coaching soccer and spending time outdoors with her family. 

Julie

Scheduling Coordinator

Julie began her career with Oasis Orthodontics in February 2017. The Oasis world has not been the same since! Julie moved from Matapedia QC in 1995 on an adventure with her husband and 13 friends. They settled in Stony Plain where they began their life story. Julie has 2 daughters, Kasandra, her eldest is completing her Master degree in French. Her youngest daughter Sarah is completing High School. Julie and her family have a lifelong love of volleyball. She keeps herself busy watching her daughters battle on the courts. She is an avid camper and loves taking advantage of the summer by setting up camp and having a good time with her loved ones. Julie makes it her mission to make others feel warm, welcomed and happy!
